The Fis will integrate women into the traditional ski jumping event from the 2026/27 season. The dates have already been set – and they are closely linked to the men’s program.

For the 75th anniversary of the Four Hills Tournament, women will also take part in the traditional ski jumping event for the first time. The world association Fis officially confirmed the premiere at a committee meeting in Portoroz, Slovenia. The competitions take place at four locations in Germany and Austria.

The women start on December 28th in Oberstdorf, on December 31st in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, on January 2nd, 2027 in Innsbruck and on January 5th, 2027 in Bischofshofen – each on the men’s qualification day. Fis race director Sandro Pertile explained: “When we started creating the seasonal calendar, our goals were clear: to expand our global presence and create synergies between the men’s and women’s tours. I am very pleased that the plan reflects exactly these intentions.”

The women’s tour replaces the two-night tour. This previously connected the two German stations around the turn of the year. For years, the lack of floodlights was the main obstacle at the Austrian locations. Fis President Johan Eliasch described the introduction as “a true milestone in the history of ski jumping and winter sports as a whole.”

In the long term, the Fis wants to align the calendars of men and women, analogous to biathlon. In the coming World Cup season, mixed competitions are planned in Lillehammer, Willingen, Sapporo and Lake Placid. The Ski Jumping World Championships will take place from February 24th to March 7th in Falun, Sweden.
