The Colombian announces the song “Dai Dai” with Burna Boy on Instagram – filmed at the Maracanã Stadium. The clip already reveals what fans can expect on May 14th.
With a short clip at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Shakira announced the official World Cup song for the 2026 World Cup. The song is called “Dai Dai” and was created together with the Nigerian artist Burna Boy. It is scheduled to be released on May 14th.
In the one-minute video, the 49-year-old runs across the lawn with the official Trionda World Cup ball under her arm. Then she shows a choreography with dancers in jerseys from Argentina and Colombia. At the end the camera moves out of the stadium – “We are ready” is written on the roof of the stands. FIFA also shared the post.

“Dai Dai” means “Let’s go, let’s go” in Italian. It is already the second song from a planned World Cup album. FIFA announced in March that it would release an entire album of World Cup songs for the first time. “Lighter” by Jelly Roll and Carín León was previously released.
It’s not Shakira’s first World Cup song. In 2010 she contributed the anthem for the finals in South Africa with “Waka Waka (This is Africa)”, followed by “La La La” for the tournament in Brazil in 2014. A few days earlier she gave a free concert at the Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro in front of around two million visitors. The 2026 World Cup starts on June 11th in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
