The Association of Jewish Communities opposes West’s planned appearance in Prague on July 25. After cancellations in London, Poland and France, the pressure is increasing.
Further criticism and calls for boycotts against Kanye West gigs: Now the Czech Association of Jewish Communities is also criticizing the rapper’s planned concert in Prague.
West is scheduled to perform there this summer 2026 – but many activists are speaking out against this. “It is unacceptable for a Nazi sympathizer to appear in a country that experienced the horrors of the Holocaust and in which Nazi survivors still live today,” the Association of Jewish Communities wrote in a public statement.
Anti-Semitic statements and apology
The rapper, who currently performs under the name Ye, has made anti-Semitic comments several times in the past and described himself as a Nazi and fan of Adolf Hitler. He even released a song called “H**l Hitler.” At the beginning of the year he apologized for his statements and actions and attributed them to his bipolar disorder.
Concert cancellations in London, Poland and France
Nevertheless, organizers from London, Poland and France canceled his planned shows. The British government banned him from entering the country, causing the entire Wireless Festival – which Ye would have headlined – to be canceled. His concert in Marseille on June 11, 2026 was also canceled after resistance from the French authorities.
Prague appeals to authorities
His concerts in Prague and Tirana, however, are still firmly in the tour schedule. The Jewish community in Prague also appealed to the authorities to cancel the event and not to allow incitements to racist or religious hatred in public spaces.
Tirana is converting its stadium to accommodate 60,000 spectators
In Tirana, his appearance was welcomed by the government. The stadium there is currently being rebuilt to create even more space for spectators – up to 60,000 people will then be able to fit in the arena.
Dates: Prague and Albania in July
The concert in Prague is planned for July 25, 2026, the appearance in Albania for July 11.
