Hertha BSC has tied home-grown player Burak Özkanlı to a professional contract until 2028. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has played for the Old Lady since he was a child and has played 43 games for the U19s over the past two years. Özkanlı is also a member of the Turkish U19 team, for which he has made four international appearances so far.
“Burak has continuously developed in recent years and was able to prove himself to the professionals for the first time last summer at the training camp in Kitzbühel. This signature is the next step for him,” explained sports director Benjamin Weber.
Özkanlı added: “I am very proud to sign a professional contract with Hertha BSC. This is something very special for me as a Berlin native. I want to continue to develop here as a goalkeeper and give my best.”
