A 32-year-old former police officer from Emmen was arrested last Monday. She is suspected of bribery, breach of official secrecy and computer trespassing, the Public Prosecution Service reported today.

The woman is said to have bribed a police officer, looked into police systems without permission and passed on information. In addition, she allegedly accepted bribes together with another person, according to the Public Prosecution Service.

A spokesperson will not provide any further information about the other person. The National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the case.

The woman’s pre-trial detention was extended by two weeks on Thursday. She is only allowed to have contact with her lawyer. The Public Prosecution Service does not rule out more arrests.
