The court in Amsterdam today sentenced Ali B to three years in prison for the rape of a woman during a writers’ camp in Heiloo and the rape of Ellen ten Damme in a hotel in Morocco.

The sentence is higher than the Public Prosecution Service had demanded. The Public Prosecution Service asked for a prison sentence of 2.5 years on appeal. The court in Haarlem sentenced the rapper to two years in prison in 2024.

Ali B was acquitted of the assault on the woman in Heiloo and the assault on Jill Helena. According to the court, there was insufficient supporting evidence for this.

In Heiloo, Ali B introduced his fingers to the victim uninvited and unexpectedly, while she was having oral sex with rapper Ronnie Flex in a bedroom of the villa. In the verdict on this rape in Heiloo, the chairman of the court spoke of a short and intense moment.

About the rape of Ellen ten Damme, who grew up in Roden, the chairman said that this was a longer attack in which the victim had resisted fiercely. This happened in a hotel in Morocco, around TV recordings for the AVROTROS program Ali B and the Music Caravan.

Ali B entered the victim’s bedroom. Unlike the court, the court found that there was no attempted rape, but a completed rape.

There was a lot of media attention for the case against Ali B. However, the court saw no reason to reduce the sentence in that media attention, partly because Ali B also sought publicity during the trial in court.
