In the match against SC Heerenveen (0-2 loss), Van Oevelen left the field on a stretcher. The goalkeeper collided with an opponent and subsequently sprained his ankle.
“It doesn’t look good,” said coach Rick Kruys immediately after the game. “At first I didn’t really realize how serious it was. When I saw him leave the field on a stretcher, I realized it was difficult.”
