Goalkeeper Christian Heljanko gave Tappara a chance to win in the third final.
Tappara goalkeeper Christian Heljanko made 26 saves on Wednesday night. Not once did the puck go behind the 29-year-old’s back.
Tappara won the third final with 2–0.
– If I had let even one go today, I would have had to continue at least. I don’t know if the zero game has any other meaning. It came to a good place.
Heljanko, who won the Finnish championship three times in Tappara’s shirt, did not want to overemphasize the importance of his first final victory.
– One thing to note, it doesn’t matter at what stage you take them. The previous game was already in the right direction. It’s good that we got the attachment today.
Tappara found the drugs

KooKoo seemed tired. Its roster is thinner than Tapparaa and the core players already have a lot of miles behind them this season and in the spring playoffs.
– I don’t know if KooKoo was silent. We may have found drugs for that game of theirs. However, the team plays in a very different way than anyone else in this series. There are challenges against them, but today we took Napsu forward in the defensive game.
Heljanko sees areas for improvement in Tappara’s game.
– We still need to find more efficiency on the offensive end. Yes, we can create chances, we still need to put more pucks in the goal.
Heljanko continues the final series with a calm mind.
– Let’s go one game at a time and try to improve, so to speak, then we’ll see what happens. No matter how long the series is, there’s only a week left, that’s a pretty short time.
The next final will be played on Friday in Kouvola. KooKoo leads the series with 2–1 wins.
