Kovač confirms failure
“Still in pain”: end of season for BVB star

Ramy Bensebaini’s Bundesliga season ends prematurely due to persistent foot pain. However, there is good news for another BVB professional.
BVB coach Niko Kovač has declared defender Ramy Bensebaini’s season over early. The Algerian is still suffering from a foot injury and will also miss the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday. Attacker Karim Adeyemi, however, is about to make a comeback after missing three games.
Bensebaini had already missed the 1-0 loss at his former club Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday. Kovač said before Friday’s game against Frankfurt (8.30 p.m./Sky): “It’s not working with Ramy. He’s still in pain.” And further: “I personally believe that it won’t work in the next game in Bremen either. That means that for now that’s it for him for the Bundesliga – of course not for the World Cup.”
The 24-year-old Adeyemi is back in full team training after muscular problems. Felix Nmecha and Niklas Süle trained at least partially integrated. Whether they will be used against Frankfurt will be decided on Thursday. Kovač said: “I would like all three to be an alternative again.”
For BVB there is hardly anything left on the penultimate matchday. After the defeat in the Borussia duel, Kovač still sees reason to make amends: “We want to show our fans something again and end the season in second place.”
