A central partner has apparently been owing payments for months. This worsens an already tense situation for Hertha BSC.

At Hertha BSC, in addition to the sporting situation, the economic situation is also increasingly coming into focus. According to information from “Sport Bild”, main sponsor “CheckCars24” has not made any payments since November. In the current season, the sponsorship volume is expected to be around 2.1 million euros, which should now result in outstanding debts of around one million euros.

The second division club is therefore examining whether the contract with the company, which runs until 2027, can be terminated early. When asked, the capital club said: “Hertha BSC is in regular and constructive communication with all of its partners and sponsors. We ask for your understanding that we generally do not comment publicly on specific contractual issues or internal coordination.”

The partnership with the Berlin car dealer was started in the summer of 2024 and was scheduled to last three years. In total, the contract has a volume of around 6.5 million euros. Since then, the company’s logo has appeared on the team’s jerseys.

At the same time, the sporting season for Hertha is also disappointing. The desired promotion to the Bundesliga is clearly missed, the team has not collected enough points. Most recently, the team lost 1-0 in Magdeburg.
