Johan Derksen denies that he consciously spreads negative information about Renze Klamer in order to weaken him as a competitor of Today Inside. “What nonsense!”, shouts the VI mustache.
It is a bit strange: Johan Derksen always hates when people are denigrated based on ‘anonymous sources’, but now he is doing exactly the same to Renze Klamer. He introduces two sources who are anonymously screwing Renze horribly. In fact, those two anonymous sources of Johan are trying to ruin Renze’s career kill.
Undermine
TV critic Victor Vlam points out that Today Inside benefits from vilifying Renze. Renze’s new talk show has attracted the man who was involved in creating the VI success formula for years: Jan Hillenius. And if both programs start fishing in the same pond, it could potentially cost VI viewers.
Wilfred Genee asks in yesterday’s VI to Johan: “Did you do it to undermine the case?”
‘What nonsense’
Johan categorically denies that. “What nonsense. Where does he get that nonsense from? Then he says: I tackled Renze to cause unrest, because he is our competitor.”
“Well, I have always been very complimentary of Renze, because I did not have the information that I have now, but we are not structured in such a way that we are causing unrest among the competition, are we? Where do you get it from?”
Wilfred: “We’re not wired that way at all.”
Unrest
It’s nonsense, says Johan. “If we want to cause unrest, we do it here in the group.”
Wilfred: “Yes, that is true, yes. I also saw that Beau never presents anymore. Must he not feel like it anymore or something? Haven’t been for a while.”
Table guest Valentijn Driessen: “He hasn’t felt like it for a long time, right? For a few years now.”
Johan: “He must have been suspended. No, you’re crazy. But everyone is confused. Such a Peter Lubbers… I then hear that he doesn’t like Renze at all. And then send an angry letter and want to sit here at the bar saying: ‘Renze is great!’, and so on. Ah, hypocritical world.”
On the line
Peter Lubbers is the new RTL boss, but has a good relationship with the VI trio. Wilfred: “I spoke to him on the phone and I found him very sincere about it. You say: you also have to say that in his position?”
Johan: “Of course. He has to stand up for his people and they chose that boy for that talk show. I only received two thank you’s from Beau and Humberto. There was also that old singer from Luv’.”
He is referring to Patty Brard. “Yes, that one, yes. Yes, I saw that one announced somewhere: ‘Derksen had that information from Beau and Humberto.’ Well, those two haven’t talked to me in years!”
