Events have been organized throughout the Netherlands to celebrate Liberation Day. As in previous years, large crowds were reported in various places.
In Haarlem, around 75,000 visitors attended the performances in honor of Liberation Day, according to the Organization Bevrijdingspop Haarlem. NH news. Prior to the performance of pop group De Bankzitters, the influx onto the site had to be slowed down and security asked visitors to make room at the main stage.
In Utrecht, visitors have been urged not to come to the festival anymore. Around 4:30 PM it became too busy and the gates were closed, reports RTV Utrecht. Later, people were able to enter again on a piecemeal basis.
