Ole Book is about to make his first transfer as sports director at Borussia Dortmund. As the “Kicker”, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and the pay TV broadcaster Sky report, the Bundesliga club and Joane Gadou from Red Bull Salzburg agree. Accordingly, BVB has agreed on a long-term contract with the 19-year-old central defender.
According to media reports, the negotiations between the clubs are on the home stretch. A transfer fee of 20 million euros plus bonus payments of up to six million euros is being discussed. Sebastian Kehl, Book’s predecessor at BVB, is also said to have been interested in Gadou in the spring and observed him on site.
In 2024, Gadou moved from Paris Saint-Germain’s youth team to Austria. The French youth international played in 33 competitive games for Salzburg this season, 31 of which were in the starting line-up. He already gained international experience in the Europa League.
