Former Fenerbahçe manager Mehmet Ali Aydınlar announced that he will not be a presidential candidate in the elective extraordinary general assembly of the yellow-dark blue club. In his written statement, Aydınlar said, “I will not be a candidate in the extraordinary general assembly to be held in order not to allow Fenerbahçe’s future to be overshadowed by discussions about me.” he said. Here is that statement…
“”IT DOES NOT MATCH WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND VALUES I DEFEND”
Stating that he has followed with sadness that his Fenerbahce support has been discussed in different ways in recent days, Aydınlar said:
“During this period that our club is going through, I took this path to contribute to the future of Fenerbahçe and to implement a management approach that befits this community. Today, I see that what has happened, what has been said and the atmosphere of debate that has emerged since the first moment my name was mentioned as a presidential candidate do not coincide with the principles and values that I have defended throughout my life. The dream of Fenerbahçe becoming a world brand is not a goal of today for me; it is a permanent ideal that I have believed in for years and tried to support in every period. My club is “My loyalty to you is not tied to a title, a position or an attribute.”
“I CAN ALWAYS BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS TO EVERYONE”
Stating that he sees his loyalty to Fenerbahçe as a responsibility he carries at every moment of his life, Aydınlar continued as follows:
“However, at this point, I see that an environment has emerged in which the discussions over my name have moved away from contributing to Fenerbahçe’s sense of unity. It is obvious how difficult it is to build a common future on a ground where everyone sees themselves as more Fenerbahçe than the other, and where everyone defines a path based on their own truth. Everything I have done for our club and every responsibility I have carried so far coincides with my conscience and my love for Fenerbahçe. I can answer for this to everyone on every ground.”
“F.BAHÇE IS A CLUB OF VALUES, NOT PERSONS”
Stating that personal goals are secondary to every agenda that divides the community, Aydınlar said:
“For this reason, I will not be a candidate in the extraordinary general assembly with elections to be held in order not to allow the future of Fenerbahçe to be overshadowed by the discussions that will occur over me. I would like to thank all our congress members and every member of our community from the bottom of my heart for the interest and support shown in this process. My loyalty to Fenerbahçe has never been dependent on people or circumstances until today. It will not be from now on either. I, as a Fenerbahçe supporter who is proud of its past, feels responsible for its present and believes in its future, “I will continue to do my best whenever and wherever necessary and to always be with my club. Because Fenerbahçe is a club of values, not people.”
