We are entering the heart of the long Monegasque festival. Yesterday we saw the best poker players on the planet at work in a tournament so rich that it has only been played twice in the history of the EPT. Everything is ready for the last act, live streaming with commentary in Italian, of the Super High Roller. And Camosci is there

In the Principality it’s starting to get serious for real. The 5,300 euro Main Event began yesterday but obviously the spotlight was on the tournament of tournaments which will see its epilogue today. Italy supports Camosci: the final day of the Super High Roller will be live

THE MAIN STARTED WITH DAY 1A

A packed room in Monte Carlo yesterday. While the “mammasantissima” of poker took their places in the most exclusive, rich and difficult tournament of the Festival, there was also the official start of the fulcrum of this EPT stage, the Main Event. Day 1A was a record 374 entries with 111 players making the cut arriving at day 2 which will start tomorrow. In fact, today the second, and last, flight is scheduled for day 1 of the Monte Carlo Main. What happened? Magical day for the Moroccan Mehdi Chaoui which closed its session with 357,000 tokens (equal to almost 240 BB). In the provisional top 10 we don’t find blue colors but we know: day 1 counts relatively. Of note is the ninth place of the evergreen Juha Helppi. Only 3 Azzurri arrived at the end of the day: along the way we lost Mustapha Kanit among others. The leader of our team is Mario Colavita with 145k, followed closely by Nicola Diaco (note the name). Closing the Italian trio is Lulei Hu, provisional 86th with 56,000 chips. Today a wave of registrations is expected, hoping that many of us will be able to continue

LIVE ON THE SUPER HIGH ROLLER FINAL DAY

A tournament like this doesn’t happen every day. Numbers in hand, the 250k “Super High Roller” had only been played once in EPT history before this week. You understand well the importance of the event and above all the players who sat at the table. During yesterday’s live broadcast, many may have looked doubtful when they saw some of the plays but know that almost nothing is “random” at these levels. The reading may be wrong but the levels of thought are so deep that it is difficult to think like them. Among the last ones left in the game there is also the only Italian in the race: Enrico Camosci who suffered a bit at the beginning of the tournament, but then took the right path towards the final day. The first place winner will receive eternal glory but also a check for over 3 million euros. There were 38 total entries with 14 players who will find themselves in front of the cameras today, commented by the usual blue trio Fang-Fabretti-Russo. At the top of the chip count we find the Austrian Christopher Nguyen with one and a half million chips. A short distance away is a High Roller specialist like Martirosian. Enrico Camosci is currently ninth with around 400,000 chips. Above and below the blue in the rankings we find Isaac Haxton and Stephen Chidwick.
