The restructuring comes after Alstom missed out on a large train order from NMBS. That order ultimately went to the Spanish company CAF. Due to the loss of that contract, there is considerably less work for the Bruges branch.
Approximately 500 people work at Alstom in Bruges. With the disappearance of 117 jobs, almost a quarter of the staff will lose their jobs.
