The accident at the intersection of Melbournestraat and Cebulaan took place around 2:30 p.m. Many emergency services, including several ambulances, responded to the incident. Ultimately, the two people were taken to hospital on the motorcycle. It is not yet known how they are doing.
A police spokesperson says that the so-called trike, a motorcycle with three wheels, was moving along the cycle path when things went wrong. It is still being investigated how the car crashed into the two on their motorcycle. The motorist was checked in the ambulance, but was not injured.
