“Didn’t feel good”
BVB goalkeeper rages after late defeat

After the setback in Gladbach, BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is visibly frustrated. His coach speaks of a “deserved defeat” and contradicts a lack of effort.
A poor performance in the Borussia duel prompted Gregor Kobel to make a clear announcement. The Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper explained clearly: “We have all signed a contract for the entire season and not just for 31 games and we have to perform in view of that,” said Kobel, who had saved his team from conceding a goal several times, after the 0-1 defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
“It didn’t feel good on the pitch. It’s super frustrating and you go home pissed,” said the Swiss. His coach firmly rejected any lack of commitment or attitude in the final spurt of the season. “We didn’t underestimate anyone and didn’t imagine it easily, on the contrary. We knew what to expect,” said Niko Kovač, who spoke of a “deserved defeat”.
“It just wasn’t good today,” said the coach dryly. The opponent was more grippy and sharper. While the Gladbachers secured their place in the Bundesliga with the victory, BVB missed the opportunity to claim runner-up status early.
BVB has already secured Champions League qualification. Kovač therefore looked ahead: “Every Bundesliga game is different. Today we didn’t show anything good and I hope that we’ll be much better in the next one than we were today.” On Friday, Dortmund will face Eintracht Frankfurt (from 8:30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online).
