Barcelona has to wait: Real are not yet giving up in the fight for the Spanish championship. A Brazilian keeps the title decision open.

Real Madrid once again prevented FC Barcelona from being crowned champions with a victory – and thus forced the big showdown in La Liga. Thanks to a brace from Vinícius Júnior, the “Royals” won 2-0 (0-0) at Espanyol Barcelona on Sunday evening. The Brazilian scored the goals in the 55th and 66th minutes in front of 31,733 spectators.

However, four match days before the end of the season, Real are still eleven points behind defending champions FC Barcelona. The team of former national coach Hansi Flick, who is looking after the Catalans for the second season, still has to wait a while for their 29th championship title. Barça can now be crowned champions in the Clásico of all places.

On Saturday, the team led by ex-Bayern star Robert Lewandowski had a 2-1 win at CA Osasuna in Pamplona. Former national coach Hansi Flick is looking after the Catalans in his second season. Next Sunday both teams will meet in a direct duel.
