A pile of prunings caught fire this evening near the Valkenstein estate in Assen-Oost.
Passers-by discovered the fire and alerted the fire brigade. Because firefighters could not easily reach the fire with their cars, they had to extinguish the fire with buckets of water from an adjacent pool.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
