Even before the last round of the Championship, it was certain that Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, would win the series and advance to the Premier League.
Ipswich Town, Millwall and Middlesbrough were still dreaming of another place in the direct promotion, although in the name of truth, Boro’s chances were mostly mathematical.
Ipswich only needed to win their own game against QPR. After George Hirst and Jaden Philogane had taken “Traktoripoja” to a 2-0 lead in nine minutes, there was no doubt about the winner.
