The president’s presentation Javier Milei in it Freedom Palace It was developed as a meeting with strong economic and ideological content, in which he shared the stage with the economist Juan Carlos De Pablo and the deputy Adrian Ravier, in an activity focused on the debate about the legacy of John Maynard Keynes one of the economists most criticized by the Head of State, and its influence on contemporary economic theory.

The event, held on April 28 at night, brought together officials, legislators, advisors and leaders of the ruling party in the former Kirchner Cultural Center, in a climate crossed by both academic discussion and political gestures that marked the scene. However, a fact with a strong political tone did not go unnoticed. Upon arrival at the venue, the president hugged the advisor Santiago Caputo while representatives of La Libertad Avanza, close to the wing of Karina Milei They applauded. In the television recording you can see emblematic figures of Karinism such as Eduardo “Lule” Menem and Lilia Lemoine smiling and clapping.

Furthermore, the axis of the meeting revolved around a direct criticism of Keynesian ideas, with Milei returning to one of the discursive pillars of his economic vision. The gesture of the president hugging the main consultant of Casa Rosada was read as a truce in the harsh internal war between the main figures of the center of power in the national government.

On the other hand, in this context, Milei maintained that “Keynes did a lot of damage, he wanted to be a remedy but it was worse than the disease,” and defined him as “a genius, but evil,” in one of the most resonant phrases of his presentation. Throughout his speech, the president delved into the interest rate and monetary dynamics, stating that “the interest rate exists because time exists, not because of money,” and he linked these concepts with the local situation by pointing out the fall and subsequent recovery of the demand for money as a key factor in the evolution of prices.

The activity at the Libertad Palace was part of a series of public presentations by the president with a strong ideological imprint, where he combined economic exposure with political messages towards his support base. In this case, the debate with De Pablo functioned both as an instance of theoretical discussion about the role of the State and monetary policy and as a scenario to reaffirm his narrative against interventionism and traditional economic currents, in a format that alternated academic moments, improvised crossings and political gestures towards his closest circle.

Beyond the technical content, the event was crossed by political gestures that captured attention. The greeting between Milei and Caputo, which was recorded in videos broadcast on social networks, in this case on the El Canciller portal and different journalistic chronicles, showed the President approaching the main bishop of La Libertad Avanza amidst applause, in a scene interpreted as a sign of support in the midst of internal political tensions.
