A sprint time trial was held in Miami.
Valtteri Bottas did not make it through the first stage of the sprint time trial. PDO
The sprint qualifying kicked off the competitive events of the season’s fourth GP weekend.
The lightning-fast three-armed man offered very few surprises.
Valtteri Bottas started as the first driver on the track, but that didn’t help him continue from the opening part. In the end, Bottas was 20th fastest, and behind him were only the two Aston Martins, who did not get a competitive result at all.
Farewell team mate to Sergio Pérez was also almost 0.6 seconds.
The final solutions naturally took place in the third section. Practically all the drivers wanted to drive only one fast lap, so the first half of the section was spent waiting.
Lando Norris took the pole position in the sprint with a difference of more than 0.2 seconds before Mersu Kimi Antonellia.
– A perfect result for us. We have a lot of new parts in the car, and it was nice to enjoy the extra grip. I love Miami. This track has always suited us, Norris said.
– I felt comfortable right from the first round.
