“We had a lot of trouble with cold winds from the north in recent weeks, which made it seem very nice in the city, but it was really freezing on the beach,” says beach tent owner Kim Rijnders. Now she beams: “The entire terrace is full, so they will come automatically.”
Summer jitters?
“Going out and about!” is what one of the beachgoers calls it. “When the sun shines, we have to go out.” A little further on, a mother is playing a game of beach tennis with her young son: “Enjoy the sun, of course, but make sure you sunscreen because it is deceptively hot.”
