Meat processor Vion has sold another slaughterhouse in Germany as part of its reorganization, in which it wants to focus on its activities in the Benelux. Last month the company sold two other slaughterhouses in Germany.
The Buchloe location will be sold to the Irish beef processor ABP Food Group if approved by the competition authorities. It is not known how much money is involved in the takeover. Vion could not be reached for comment. The company previously reported that various parties were interested in this slaughterhouse.
In Buchloe, Vion says it processes approximately 90,000 cattle annually and employs approximately 270 employees. The company previously concluded an agreement in principle on the sale of the branches in Crailsheim and Waldkraiburg.
Vion is a producer of meat, meat products and plant-based alternatives, with seventeen production locations in the Netherlands and Germany.
