Many Amsterdam residents noticed, given the videos that AT5 received: another Chinook flew over the city. The Defense helicopter left this morning from the Marineterrein in Amsterdam towards the south of the country. It was a training flight, an Air Force spokesperson said.
The helicopter arrived at the Marineterrein around 11 a.m. According to two local residents, the helicopter stayed there for about five minutes before leaving again. The route of the large transport helicopter could be followed via FlightRadar24. It could be seen that the helicopter flew to Gilze-Rijen air base.

Around 10:30 am the air force wrote on X that the crews of two Chinook helicopters had left to help the fire brigade with the wildfires in Elburg in Gelderland. The Air Force spokesperson says that these were different helicopters than the helicopter that could be seen above Amsterdam.
The Chinook is the largest transport helicopter of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. There is room for six crew members and 32 soldiers with gear and weapons. The helicopter often lands on the Marineterrein, whereis a landing site.
