For De Ham and the captain, the feelings of revenge are great after the lost semi-final of the cup. “We really did ourselves a disservice there and we want to rectify that in the play-offs. We are playing against PSV and we are very close to each other. Given our position, we are obliged to win.”
Zaanse derby in the play-offs?
If De Ham settles with PSV, a possible confrontation with ZV De Zaan is on the horizon. “A Zaan derby in the play-offs for the national championship could hardly be better. We defeated them earlier this season and that was the first victory since 2016. De Zaan is an incredibly good team with fit players, but we want to show what we can do.”
PSV is still waiting for that possible confrontation. The games are scheduled for tonight, tomorrow evening and possibly Sunday afternoon. The quarter-finals will be played in the best of three format. De Zaan starts as favorite against ZPB, the lowest ranked club in the competition.
