Asterix Avo Beveren won the first match of the ‘best-of-5’ in the final series at home (3-1) and was also the best in the second match in Roeselare (0-3), but on Sunday the West Flemish team hit back.
In the lion’s den they won the third game 1-3 and so there was still hope for the national title. But on Thursday evening Bevo had to bow her head. It lost 0-3 in the REO Arena and has to leave the title to Asterix.
Darta Bevo Roeselare played her third season at the highest level, after the integration of Hermes Oostende within the structure of the Roeselare club. Roeselare was also a losing finalist in the title finals last year.
In mid-April they also narrowly missed out on the cup in the Afas Dome. It lost the cup final against VC Oudegem.
