“My ambitions are clear: I want to become champion with a Dutch top club,” says De Graaf. “I am working on how we are going to get there, Telstar is probably a nice intermediate step. I still have a continuous contract (until 2027, ed.) with Spakenburg. They also know about my ambitions and if it doesn’t work out now, it will work itself out.”
Not yet finalized with Telstar
He contradicts the fact that De Graaf is ‘almost complete’ with Telstar. “I think it’s amazing how this rumor got into the world. I don’t talk about it with many people. You know how it works in football, these kinds of things often happen quickly.”
Chris de Graaf has been at the helm of Spakenburg since November 2021. He achieved great success with the club in the KNVB Cup in the 2022/23 season. The Spakenburger is also doing an internship at FC Twente this season.
Telstar will be involved in a fierce battle against relegation in the coming weeks. The next opponent is NEC. Anthony Correia’s team will visit there on Saturday from 9 p.m.
