The accident took place around 11:20 am, at the intersection of Middenweg and Volgerweg. The police are still investigating what exactly went wrong. This is an equivalent intersection with a ditch on two sides.
It is unknown how fast the cars were traveling when they collided, but both vehicles rolled into different parts of the same ditch after the impact. One remained upright at the top, the other ended up upside down in the water.
Both drivers had to be checked by ambulance personnel, after which one of them was transported to hospital. It is not clear whether this is the driver of the overturned car.
