She bakes bread in a pan. The water in the bucket by the stove is frozen. Bodies that have been eaten by dogs lie in the streets. Oleshky, a Ukrainian town of once 24,000 people on the left bank of the Dnieper, is cut off from the world. About 1,700 residents are in custody — including 47 children. There has been no food supply since mid-April.
