Ariana Grande announces her 8th album with 12 tracks – self-produced and independent label release in July. All information here.
Ariana Grande will release her eighth album this summer. She announced this on April 28, 2026 via Instagram.
This comes as no surprise to fans. Even though the singer recently said that she would need “at least four more arms and an extra brain” for a new musical release, her followers were already sure that new music was on the way.
She posted pictures from the recording studio on April 8th – ten days later a short clip followed in which she told something about her new project.
So here’s a check of what we already know about the new album.
Flowers through concrete: The concept behind “Petal”
The new album is titled “Petal” and, according to Grande, represents something “that is full of life and grows through the cracks of something cold, hard and difficult,” like flowers through concrete pavement.
The new songs should be positive and show that Ariana Grande is going through a “healing process”.
The cover and teasers of the new release are very reminiscent of their first three albums in black and white. This time, however, she can be seen with a big smile.
Release, tracklist and tour overlap
“Petal” will consist of twelve tracks, but the titles of the pieces have not yet been released. The release date is July 31st – so that’s just under three months away. The fans are therefore expecting a first single from the new album soon.
It is noteworthy that Grande will be on tour for her latest album “Eternal Sunshine” during the album release. Fans are therefore hoping that she will also play the new tracks live there.
Sound, collaborations and in-house production
It is still unclear in which direction the sound of the new LP should go. All that is known is that she is working again with her producer Ilya, who has supported her since her album “Sweetener” in 2018. Additionally, many suspect that it will sound similar to the song “Positions” since composer Peter Lee Johnson, who worked on the track, is also featured in the new album’s credits.
This time Grande wrote and produced all the songs herself.
Independent Artist: BabyDoll Records
Additionally, she is now an independent artist as the new album is being marketed through her own label. Her music is now licensed to BabyDoll Records.
The singer and actress is once again taking a big step into the music industry, from which, according to her own statements, she actually wanted to move away. After all, Grande has grown significantly as an actress in recent years. It wasn’t until November 2025 that she completed her role as Glinda in “Wicked: For Good”. She was last seen in the trailer for “My Wife, Our Daughter-in-Law and I,” which is scheduled to be released in November 2026.
Tour from June: USA and London
But first she goes on tour. Ariana Grande will play this mainly in the USA from the beginning of June. From August 15th there will be nine more shows in London.
