Interpreter Gabriela (65) seriously beaten by suspect during police interrogation: “Will I ever be able to work again? I fear it”

Sworn interpreter Gabriela Kürti (65) from Turnhout was brutally assaulted by a 22-year-old Romanian suspect of attempted murder during a police interrogation on Monday. The interpreter is unable to work and even fears that her career is at risk. “We are increasingly threatened, but we don’t get protection or training to recognize warning signs.”
