NAC Breda no longer has central defender Leo Greiml in the fight against relegation. The Austrian has suffered a new shoulder injury and must undergo surgery, the current number 17 of the Eredivisie reports on his website.
Greiml (24) will undergo surgery in Austria on Friday and he will remain there for the first period of his rehabilitation. “It feels very frustrating that I can no longer be of value to NAC in the final phase of this season,” Greiml said in the message. “However, I know I have to undergo this operation to be fit again next season. I am happy with the support and confidence from the club.”
NAC is in danger of being the second club to be directly relegated after Heracles Almelo. With three games to go, the people of Breda have 5 points less than Telstar and are 6 points behind FC Volendam and Excelsior. NAC will play against FC Utrecht on Saturday.
