The smoke clouds from the large wildfire on the military training ground at ‘t Harde, on the Veluwe, can be seen and smelled as far away as Amsterdam and the surrounding area. “The control room is currently receiving many reports from people who suffer from smoke,” reports the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region on their website. The safety region explains that the wind blows the smoke towards the capital, more than 70 kilometers away.
The advice to people who suffer from this is to close windows and doors and switch off automatic ventilation systems.
