Fighter jets will also take off from the runway at Eindhoven airport in the first week of May. The air force training period has been extended. The fighter jets, which normally have Volkel or Leeuwarden as their home base, are stationed at the air base in Eindhoven for training.
In total, this concerns an extension of the training period with four additional days in May, 4, 6, 7 and 9 May. The fighter jets will also return to Eindhoven from August 17 to 21, the Royal Netherlands Air Force announced on Wednesday.
Last week the fighter planes were also training from the air base in Eindhoven. The Air Force tries to train agility and strengthen preparedness with the flights.
The air base in Eindhoven normally functions as a reserve base for the F-35s stationed in Volkel and Leeuwarden. During the training period, the air base in Eindhoven is the home base of the fighter planes.
Noise pollution
According to the Air Force, the exercises will cause minimal noise pollution and the flight movements will fall within the permitted noise limit.
The aircraft will take to the air twice a day during the training periods, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Eindhoven Air Base
Eindhoven Airport and Eindhoven Air Base share the same runway. Holidaymakers depart and land there, while the military side of the site is managed by Defense and serves as a home base for air force transport aircraft.
