Trabzonspor’s Ivory Coast player Christ Oulai stated in the interview in this month’s issue of Trabzonspor Magazine that he started playing football in his country and said, “I believed at that age that the best thing I could do was football, which I loved very much, and that’s why I was determined. We were going through difficulties in many ways, but I never gave up fighting, I was always full of hope. My dream was to be a top-level professional football player and I am working hard to progress on this path. I am still a young player, I have time to achieve the best.” he said.
“WHEN I LEARNED ABOUT THE OFFER…”
Explaining the transfer process to Trabzonspor, the 20-year-old football player said:
“The Trabzonspor project was a valuable project for me because they had many young players like me. They trusted the young people. I liked this idea directly. When I learned about the offer and saw their determination in this project, it was not difficult for me to sign. After coming here, I understood better what a right choice I made, I am happy.”
“IT IS A GREAT PROUD TO BE IN THE NATIONAL TEAM”
Ivory Coast National Team Coach Emerse Fa describes him as “a technical midfielder who sees things before others.” Regarding his statement, Oulai made the following evaluation:
“It is a great pride to be in the national team. The praise of the national team coach motivated me a lot, I felt proud. I am very happy because he is a really good coach, there is a father-son, brother-brother relationship between us. It makes me very happy that he thinks so. It was a great pride to play in the national team because 2 years ago I was just a fan, I was at home in my neighborhood. Then I found myself playing in the African Cup of Nations. Then I was selected as the player of the match. I felt really proud when I received this award. “I dedicate it to my family, my mother and everyone who believes in me.”
Oulai stated that fan support motivates him a lot and said, “Fan support is very effective because even the idea of seeing them in the stadium motivates me. I am very happy because they give us strength, they cheer us on and I love it. I really love that driving energy behind us.” He commented:

The young player explained that the intense contact and bilateral matches in the league did not strain him, and continued as follows:
“No, it’s not actually difficult because I like physical contact. I really like aggression. This league suits me. It’s going well, I’m getting through it. I would like to improve myself in the field of shooting, because that way I’ll score more goals. Yes, I want to improve my shots even more and I’m working on that. I’m a competitive, fearless, technical player. I like to play with contact. I’m a bit of a joker on the field from time to time.”
Regarding his goals, Oulai said, “My biggest dream in football has never changed, to win the Champions League with the club I play for and to bring a World Cup to my country, Ivory Coast.” he said.
Explaining that when things go wrong in football and they are defeated, he goes home first, Oulai said, “I eat and call my father while I eat, he consoles me. Then everything goes away. I immediately focus on the next match. I am not someone who cries.” He commented:

Stating that he would like to be a mathematician if he were not a football player, Oulai said:
“Mathematics is with us in all areas of life, from problem solving to planning, it is the science that enables us to make the right decisions on all kinds of issues, and I love this science very much. Yes, this interest of mine helps me on the field as well, I often make calculations. I try to adjust the distance, calculate how I receive the ball and how to pass it. Mathematics helps in all of these. The essence of the matter is actually this, young people, go to school, education is very important, its benefits are incredible.”
