A heath fire broke out in Wateren this evening. This concerns a natural fire on Keukenlaan, on the Doldersummerveld. The fire brigade has now got the fire under control.
Due to the heath fire, the fire brigade was heavily involved and several units arrived on the scene. “Because of the wind, we have scaled up to a second platoon,” the VRD spokesperson explains. An area of about 400 square meters was on fire, the spokesperson said.
The fire brigade has now managed to extinguish the fire. How the fire could have started is still being investigated.
