The British band Tindersticks last appeared on European stages in 2025. Since then, the group has taken a break from touring. Fans still have to be patient, but it will soon be that time again. The musicians recently announced that they would return to the stage in 2027. The band is also making a stop in Germany – and ROLLING STONE will present all Tindersticks concerts.
Guitar pop since 1992
The ensemble around singer and frontman Stuart A. Staples was founded in 1992 as the successor to the band Asphalt Ribbons. Musically they move between guitar pop and chamber music. Classical instruments such as strings, percussion and brass are also part of the artists’ style.
In 2003 the band split up for five years before making a comeback with the album “The Hungry Saw” in 2008. They have been active ever since, releasing several studio albums and also providing music for feature films.
Current album “Soft Tissue”
The Tindersticks’ current album, “Soft Tissue”, was released on September 13, 2024. The record remained true to the group’s usual style and was supplemented by orchestral elements as well as other instruments such as the piano. “New World” stood out as a single at the time.
It is still unclear whether there will be a new album for the 2027 tour, but it is likely. “Soft Tissue” was released to be featured on a subsequent tour. A similar pattern could follow for the next tour.
