Camera Buyer Italia (CBI) is setting the course for more international presence and is expanding its structure beyond Italy for the first time. The association, which is one of the most important networks of independent luxury multi-brand retailers, will in future rely on an ambassador model to expand its activities in Europe, CBI announced on Tuesday.
Specifically, this involves the appointment of three European representatives, which is intended to enable stronger networking and more influence in the global fashion market. Instead of focusing on the Italian market, the organization wants to involve international players more closely and thus create a coordinated platform for exchange between retailers, brands and institutions.
The first ambassadors were deliberately chosen to be established retailers with strong local roots and an international perspective. Luis Sans from Santa Eulalia is taking over Spain, Luc Dheedene from Verso is responsible for the Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg region, and Lars Braun from Braun Hamburg is responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In the future, they should actively recruit new members, contribute market knowledge and strengthen the position of independent luxury retailers in their regions.
Especially in German-speaking countries, the appointment of Braun, who is also Managing Director of Braun Hamburg, signals a clear ambition to expand the network’s relevance. Multibrand stores are under increasing pressure from changing consumer behavior, the growing direct sales strategy of many brands and global competitive dynamics. An internationally coordinated network could be a decisive advantage here, according to the statement.
“As international partners, we can create concrete added value thanks to a global perspective and continuous openness to tourist flows in Europe,” says Braun. “This exchange promotes both cultural and economic enrichment and enables the development of new channels and development opportunities. This strengthens connections between markets and expands growth potential for all members.”
Camera Buyer Italia’s approach is not only aimed at visibility, but above all at substance. Retailers should learn from each other, use synergies and open up new business opportunities together. The exchange about market trends and customer behavior is becoming just as important as direct dialogue with brand partners.
