The code yellow jumped to code orange this morning throughout Flanders. It has been dry for some time in all provinces and there is no precipitation. On top of that, a strong, rural wind blows from the east, indicating Nature and Forest. The combination of these two factors leads to a high risk of wildfires.
Extra careful
That is why the agency asks you to be extra careful. There are three golden rules: do not smoke in forests or nature reserves, do not light a fire and do not let children walk around unsupervised. Anyone who sees a suspicious situation can report it via the emergency number 112.
The fire brigade and nature managers are extra vigilant and are ready to respond with greater force.
