Foo Fighters have premiered two songs from “Your Favorite Toy” live – as musical guests in the latest episode of “SNL UK.”
Just one day after the release of their new album and shortly before the start of the tour this week, Dave Grohl and Co. stopped at the format filmed in London and brought “Caught in the Echo” and “Child Actor” live on stage for the first time.
With their appearance in the fifth episode of “SNL UK”, the Foo Fighters also made history: They are the first American artists ever to appear as musical guests on the British edition of SNL. Wet Leg, Kasabian, Wolf Alice and Jorja Smith previously held the role; Next week it will be the turn of British singer Meek.
Grohl’s guest appearances on the show
Grohl didn’t just limit himself to the musical performances: he also appeared as a surprise guest in host Nicola Coughlan’s opening monologue – along with Jimmy Fallon – and was also seen in one of the episode’s sketches.
“Your Favorite Toy,” the first Foo Fighters album with new drummer Ilan Rubin, was released on Friday. On April 28th, the band will take the stage at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, followed by two festival gigs in May: Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach and BottleRock in Napa, California. After a European tour in June and July, the band kicks off their North American stadium tour on August 4th in Toronto. This ends September 26th in Las Vegas and includes a headlining performance at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville.
