From the novel of the same name by Fatima Daas (Fandango), Hafsia Herzi, for her third film as director, delves into the depths of a consciousnessand as in the poignant You deserve love (2019) supports its protagonist (Nadia Melliti, debutant and best actress at Cannes 2025) in the search for her own place, between love for girls and love for God.
The youngest child in a loving family, Fatima leaves the suburbs for Paris, to study and party. He struggles with his own modesty (the scene in which sex is told is beautiful) and with tradition. It is not easy to make the exploration of a desire visible. Herzi succeeds.
