LOOK. Cable of fairground attraction in Seville breaks: four people slightly injured
The incident happened on Friday during the April fair ‘La Feria de Abril’ in Seville. According to authorities, four people suffered minor injuries in the incident involving the ‘Steel Max’ attraction. Two people were treated at the scene, the two children were taken to hospital as a precaution.
At the highest point
A woman filmed the incident, which took place in the “Calle del Infierno”, or the street of the fair with the most exciting attractions. The woman screams when the cable suddenly snaps, just as the attraction is at its highest point. The spherical container with two minors falls down, hits a mast of the attraction and bounces up and down. A blessing in disguise: the cable only snapped on one side, which somewhat restrains the container when it falls.

“During the second launch of the attraction, one of the side cables came loose,” explains the Spanish newspaper ‘La Vanguardia’. “Because the cabin was no longer secured on that side, the sphere collided with one of the two masts of the attraction. It then remained hanging at a height of approximately five meters in the air.”
Bystanders held their breath in shock until the two children in the container signaled that they were okay.
