There will be some changes to the squad at FC Bayern in the summer. There is more and more movement coming in, especially on the exit side.
FC Bayern have already bagged the championship, the record champions are in the final of the DFB Cup and in the semi-finals of the Champions League (on Tuesday the first leg against PSG from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). And although there are still some sporting challenges, Bayern are already pushing ahead with their personnel planning for the coming season.
There is movement, especially on the outlet side. It was previously confirmed that both Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro would be leaving the club in the summer. On Saturday evening, sports director Max Eberl sat in the ZDF sports studio and confirmed the next departure. Nicolas Jackson, who is on loan from Chelsea, will not stay in Munich.
Eberl: “We have players who we won’t extend: Leon Goretzka or Raphaël Guerreiro. We have a player in Nicolas Jackson, whose option we don’t have to use because he doesn’t play in the games. And where it comes down to, we won’t use the option.”
What Max Eberl means: Jackson was signed by Chelsea for a year in the summer of 2025 for a loan fee of 16.5 million euros. A purchase option for 65 million euros was also agreed, but this only takes effect if Jackson is in the starting line-up in 40 games. Jackson has only made 29 competitive appearances for Bayern this season. He scored ten goals.
