Given the wide margin of advantage on the fifths, Milan-Juventus tomorrow night at San Siro could risk losing some interest on the pitch. On the other hand, unable to fight for the title for different reasons, Allegri and Spalletti’s teams have the sole objective of entering the top four and ensuring qualification for the next Champions League, with the consequent sixty million guaranteed by UEFA. In reality, however, this is not the case: even in Serie A every position counts and even here, between second, third and fourth place, there are several million reasons to fight to the end.
Serie A, how much are the positions in the standings worth?

The reason is to be found in the distribution of revenues from television rights among the 20 teams in the top championship, which, for approximately 11%, is calculated based on the result in the last championship. In short, it is a cake of around 100 million, to be divided based on the ranking. And here is the case of the Rossoneri, Bianconeri and, if desired, even Napoli, which has a 3-point advantage over Allegri’s team and 6 over Spalletti after the poker match against Cremonese. Second place at the end of the 2025/26 championship would, in fact, earn 13.2 million, third 11.3 and fourth 9.4: in short, 1.9 million are at stake between one position and the other. They won’t allow us to make a market coup, but they certainly help in this economic context of Italian football.
