Horngacher’s future will finally be decided after June 13th, the day the new association president is elected. According to the report, Apoloniusz Tajner has the best chance of getting the position as he apparently does not have to fear any opposing candidates. One of the first official acts will be to finally clarify the coaching question.
Ski jumping legend Adam Malysz had previously announced that he wanted to vacate his position as head of the association in the summer after a total of four years. “My idea of what the future should look like does not match that of the board, so my decision is: No, I will not stand for re-election,” said the 48-year-old.
Ski jumping: Horngacher on hold
Malysz had been working on signing Horngacher for a long time in the background, and the ex-national coach had already “worked very intensively with Maciek Maciusiak and Michal Dolezal on the entire plan for preparation for the new season,” as he revealed to “Radio ZET” on Friday.
Malysz also said in an interview with the TV station “Polsat” that he was leaving the Horngacher decision to “the new board”.
Stefan Horngacher had already worked as a national coach in Poland between 2016 and 2019. His return, this time as sports director, actually seemed to have been decided, and a date for the announcement of the deal had even been set.
