Home win in the BBL - Ratiopharm Ulm wins against Veolia Towers Hamburg.

As of: April 25, 2026 • 9:51 p.m

Ratiopharm Ulm won its home game in the Basketball Bundesliga against Veolia Towers Hamburg. At the end of a weak game the score was 81:72.

The preliminary round of the Bundesliga is coming to an end. Every victory counts. ratiopharm Ulm recorded another one on Saturday evening.

Ulm with a flawless start

ratiopharm Ulm earned an A with an asterisk in the first two minutes. The hosts overrun the guests from Hamburg with a score of 10 to 0. They can only slowly collect after an early break. After that the game is balanced. Ulm’s Christopher Ledlum is lucky shortly before the end of the quarter. The referees only rated his elbow check against Zacharie Perrin as a technical foul. Ledlum shouldn’t have complained about a disqualification. Ulm leads 29 to 20 after ten minutes.

Weak second quarter – and an upset

In the second quarter there was a bit of sand in the gears on both sides. The hit rates are declining. Both teams sometimes miss very easy throws. Ball losses are also increasing. The second quarter is not pretty to look at. The game still has one element of excitement: the referees are involved again. The fact that they didn’t whistle for a foul on Nelson Weidemann upsets Ulm’s coach Ty Harrelson. Hamburg’s coach Benka Barloschky is also annoyed. Both receive a technical foul. Time score: 42 to 32 for Ulm.

Ulm keeps Hamburg at a distance

After the break, tempers calmed down again. But both teams continue to make a lot of mistakes. Ulm doesn’t really find its rhythm. Hamburg takes advantage of this opportunity and temporarily reduces the score to seven points. Two open threes bring order back to the scoreboard for Ulm. The runner-up leads 61 to 51 before the last ten minutes. The game is not yet decided.

Ulm secures the home win

But Ulm couldn’t let the victory be taken away from them in the final round. The home team always has an answer when Hamburg gets a little closer. Overall, the guests don’t have enough ideas against a good Ulm defense. In an overall weak basketball game, Joel Soriano for Ulm (13 points) and Devon Daniels for Hamburg (32 points) are the best throwers. In the end, Ulm deservedly won with 81 to 72.

Next Saturday ratiopharm Ulm continues in the Bundesliga with an away game in Würzburg. The Veolia Towers Hamburg play in Bamberg a day later.
