The youngest son of the family is suspected of the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.

Director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife by Michele Singer Reiner eldest son Jake has written about his sudden loss in his personal blog, says People magazine.
Reiner’s parents were found dead in their home in Los Angeles last December. Their youngest son Nick Reiner was arrested on suspicion of murder. Nick has pleaded not guilty.
Jake learned about his parents’ death from his sister.
– My world, as I had known it, collapsed. I was in a trance, 34-year-old Jake describes.
– Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents at the same time, says Jake.
– I still wake up every morning and I have to tell myself that no, it wasn’t a dream. This really is a living nightmare.

In his essay, Jake also talks about the good memories he has of his parents. According to him, the parents loved Jake’s siblings unconditionally.
Jake says he understands that it’s hard for others to understand the family’s situation and to talk to Jake and his sister who found their parents’ bodies.
– The truth is that there is nothing to say. All I ask for is love and compassion—the same principles my parents lived by.
