Jan Hillenius, who was at the helm of Today Inside and its predecessors for sixteen years, will work for Renze Klamer’s new talk show. “He can earn more there.”
The announcement of his departure two years ago landed like a bombshell on the editorial staff of Today Inside: Jan Hillenius suddenly announced that he was quitting to make a career change. He wanted to work as a teacher and had undergone training for this last year. He has now almost completed it, he says A.D.
Out of the doldrums
After completing his training, Jan will be working hard on Renze’s new TV project. “I hope to complete that next month. I will of course finish the school year, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity. I am very much looking forward to working with the editors and Renze.”
Although he previously refused the request to pull RTL Tonight out of the doldrums and therefore deliberately left VI, he does see potential in Renze’s show. “What should we think of that?” asks Wilfred Genee Today Inside.
Very nice
Johan Derksen likes it for Jan. “I’m really happy that Jan is back.”
Wilfred: “No, I really like it for Jan. Perhaps we should make it clear: Jan Hillenius has been our support and source for sixteen years and will now become editor-in-chief of Renze.”
Johan: “I’m not surprised in that regard, because when he was here for the last time, I sensed the doubts about being his teacher. He saw that again here and I saw that he longed for this world again and for the salary that comes with it. He has lost about half.”
Good move
TV authority Tina Nijkamp thinks Renze is lucky. “He was also asked for RTL Tonight when things went wrong, to come and save it. Then he said no and now he has said yes, so I think it is a good move for Renze.”
Johan: “And Jan is one gentlemanhuh? Things will never happen in a program that are not really possible.”
Wilfred: “Well, I think he was there with that dildo helmet.”
Johan concludes: “Well, then I think he’s a terrible pervert!”
